Seth Rogen is taking viewers inside the insane world of Hollywood movie executives in The Studio, his new comedy on Apple TV+. The first two episodes are already streaming, but when will the rest of the season arrive? Read on to learn about The Studio release schedule, episode count, and more.
Rogen—who created, wrote, and directed the series alongside his longtime writing partner Evan Goldberg—stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of a movie studio. With the film industry fighting to stay relevant, Matt and his team at Continental Studios must navigate the tension between corporate pressure and creative ambition as they work to keep movies alive.
“With their power suits masking their never-ending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe,” the synopsis reads. “As someone who eats, sleeps and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.”
While developing The Studio, Rogen and Goldberg drew inspiration from real-life studio executives. In an interview with NPR, they explained that they spoke with numerous execs during the creative process, and many of their observations ended up making it into the show.

"It’s a very tragic job, and I think tragedy is comedy in a lot of ways," Rogen said of the role. "They have to say things that make me really mad at them and I would imagine that’s a huge bummer — and I've seen it over and over."
Rogen added that his character’s constantly frazzled demeanor as being grounded in reality. “He’s very panicked and stressed out and wears it on his sleeve….” he said. “That’s a thing that I actually have seen from a lot of these [studio execs]
. And that’s based on some specific people I know — they wear their panic clearly, they have a bad poker face.”
The star-studded cast also features Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Bryan Cranston, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Keyla Monterroso Mejia, with a long list of Hollywood A-listers set to guest star throughout Season 1. Apple has confirmed appearances so far from Peter Berg, Paul Dano, Zac Efron, Ron Howard, Johnny Knoxville, Greta Lee, Anthony Mackie, Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, Olivia Wilde, Ramy Youssef, Zoë Kravitz, and more.
